Jon Stein
You may know about Islam but you know nothing about the Tora. The originality is in the ideas. The way they are dressed is the shallow parts that you see.

Thank you for a great article. It's always heartwarming to feel liked, at least by a small percentage of the world population. :) Your support is greatly appreciated.

[...] People often ask me why I support Israel so strongly and vigorously. At times I often step back myself and notice that my fascination and devotion to Israeli politics and culture could be considered an obsession. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, I don’t know and I don’t particularly care. There are what I consider extremely valid reasons for supporting the nation of Israel to the hilt and many of those can be found in the detailed essay I wrote a few years ago titled Why I Strongly Support Israel.
Thank you Jon Stein for your comment. I respectfully disagree with a number of your points and you most likely know what those are and how I would answer.

I'm a Jew myself, working for a non-profit organization in India for many years. The following points are for your consideration:

1/From my experience (upon coming here I had made it a point to learn as much as possible about the major religions, including Islam) Islam is NOT anti-Jewish, just as Judaism is NOT about an eye for an eye. The hadiths are widely debated and were recorded centuries after the death of Mohammed, and aren't a cornerstone of the Muslim faith in that sense.

2/(This is from my 9-year study of the monotheistic faiths.) According to Islam, Jews and Christians are also 'Muslims' as they follow the same Abrahamic faith. E.g., it's perfectly okay for a Muslim man/woman to marry someone from those faiths. In contrast, the spouse-to-be cannot be from a different, pagan religion -- in that case he/she must convert to Islam. I could go on and on with other examples, but I leave that to you.

3/What Muslims have against Israel is clearly NOT a religious issue, it's a complex economic and political debacle. G_d/Allah is clearly the problem here; I don't believe, and that clears up a lot of the mess. If you quit believing that there is no Promised Land (by all means, the Torah is NOT an original text, check any decent library, if not for your own sake then at least for the people who might come across such webpages), you start realizing that Israel was built on occupied territory, displacing local inhabitants who had no problems with Jews whatsoever. But only if.

You are probably young, and haven't seen the Holocaust. I have. And yes, I stand by my words. You don't have to be a Zionist to be a Jew. More importantly, you don't have to be _anything_ to be human. See for your own eyes, and good luck.
