Very well written and explained. I have always wanted to visit Israel and learn its vibrant culture first hand. Perhaps some time in the near future.

Rastafarism & Zionism in a nutshell: Africans are taken from their land hundreds of years ago and spread across the world into slavery. Once freed they are still discriminated against and lynched in the new world. Marcus Garvey begins the "Back to Africa" movement in the early 1900's. Ras(king) Tafari comes to power and claims Ethiopia the land for descendants of Africans in the new world to return to. With Ethiopia near Israel and and the idea of a mistreated group of people returning to their homeland many ideas of zionism influenced rastafarism

Thanks Beaman, this is an interesting read. Like many American libertarians, I am more ambivalent towards Zionism than republicans or democrats. It seems the conservatives support Israel, and the democrats (particularly excessively liberal transnationalistic fascists like Obama) do not and seem to favor Palestine. I find it astonishing how in America, liberals are waging war on Christianity while treating radical Islam like bosom buddies. Of course Israel has the right to exist --we all do--unless our goals are to kill human beings for some twisted religious agenda.
